MEET OUR RESEARCHER & DBFL INSTRUCTOR
Dr Agathe Daria Jadczak
Dr Agathe Daria Jadczak works as a Research Fellow at the GTRAC Centre (Geriatrics Training & Research with Aged Care), Medical School at the University of Adelaide. Her research focuses on helping older adults stay strong, independent and safe, especially when it comes to reducing falls-related injuries and managing frailty.
At AgeWell Motion, she brings this research to life. In partnership with the Adelaide University Judo Club (AUJC), she has been exploring how judo-based safe landing techniques can be adapted to teach older adults how to fall safely and reduce injury. After completing a successful feasibility study and leading a scoping review, she is now finishing a two-year trial funded by the Hospital Research Foundation collecting ongoing data about the DBfL Safe Falling program.
With over a decade of experience in designing and running exercise programs for people aged 65 and older, she is now also active as an accredited and licensed DBfL Safe Falling Instructor and Exercise Professional to support you in staying active, confident, and well – no matter your age or ability.
Dr Agathe Daria Jadczak also co-authored the Global Consensus Statement on how Judo can contribute to reducing the problem of injurious falls in older adults.
